A grammar!nazi to the core, I will scrutinize your every sentence until I am satisfied that you understand the proper rules of commas and such. If not, I will call you on your errors because anything less than correct English is offensive. I tend to be even more obsessive at night, depending on my (lack of) sleep. While it could be argued that grammar is not an important part of the site, it really does affect your overall presentation to your viewers.
Don’t get me wrong, that doesn’t make me any less of a reviewer. While I am hard to impress, I don’t have quite as many pet peeves as some reviewers either. I’ll tell you what bothers me and give tips on what to do instead, though in most cases, I will be fairly nice about it unless if it really irks me.
I’m not obsessive about coding, so if it looks good, I’ll generally not say anything about it. However, if you have a coding validation link, I will validate your site. As for layouts, color coordination is a key, as well as a readable font both in terms of size and color.
I like content, especially when there’s a lot of it, but only if it’s quality. More than how pretty your layout is or how cute you are, I’m interested in what your site really has to offer. After all, if it’s just a random aesthetic piece of data laying around on the web, it’s not much of a site, is it?
